Of the two, autumn/winter is without a doubt the most luxurious season. While we love the romantic silhouettes and soft color palettes that a spring/summer collection provides, there is just something about the luxe fabrics and rich, moody colors of autumn/winter that gets us especially excited about lingerie.

This autumn/winter season was no exception. We went all out this year and, in doing so, we can’t wait to bring you one of our best autumn/winter seasons yet.

Best of all? We’re giving you a sneak peek of our upcoming autumn/winter 2018 collections right here on our blog.

Next up: The Amour collection, which features a romantic Cross Plunge Padded Bra, sexy Unlined Wire Bra, and lacy Bikini in autumnal Aubergine and anything-but-boring Black.

Amour Cross Plunge Bra A1471

The Amour Cross Plunge Bra is a molded bra with padded demi cups and a supportive band in decadent scalloped lace. The dramatic plunging neckline combined with the wrap around strap makes this bra a total knockout.

Construction & Fit

Plunge padded cups with molded foam pads offer a rounded shape under clothing. The soft stabilized tricot lining on the full front band (until the side bones) offers comfort. The front band/cradle is made of stretch lace (also until the side bones). The back band is lined in power mesh for extra support. The plunging cups are cut low for sexy coverage. The criss cross detail on the Amour Cross Plunge Bra starts from under the cup wires at the center gore before crossing and descending under the ribs at the sides to create a pretty “underwrap” effect.

Typically, bras with wrap around silhouettes are low back bras that aren’t very supportive. The Amour Cross Plunge Bra is different. With its back hook and eye closure, it’s constructed like your favorite bra and the wrap around element won’t bring the bust down or cause any support to be lost with movement.

Best for these breast shapes: Round, tear drop, asymmetric, slender, wide set, outward facing

Also features: Adjustable straps and a back hook and eye closure

You’ll love this bra if…you’re in the mood to try something new or if you’re looking for a bra that is as beautifully unique and very wearable.

Construction & Fit

Lace three-part cups lift, shape, and center the bust. The soft stabilized tricot lining on the full front band (until side bones) provides all-day comfort. The front band/cradle is made of stretch lace (until side bones). The back band of the Amour Unlined Wire Bra features two-ply mesh for support. The balconette cups work for many different breast shapes – including round, teardrop, wide set, and outward facing.

This bra is a beautiful addition to any lingerie wardrobe. It strikes the perfect balance between simple and sexy.

Best for these breast shapes: Round, teardrop, wide set, outward facing

Also features: Adjustable straps and a back hook and eye closure

Are you getting the most out of your lingerie wardrobe? If you don’t look forward to picking out your lingerie in the morning, it’s time for a change. Lingerie doesn’t have to be boring, ill-fitting, or annoying. In fact, it can be one of your favorite things to put on in the morning if you take the time to build a lingerie wardrobe you love.

How do you build a lingerie wardrobe that never lets you down? Read on for our top tips!

1.  Determine your basics

Which bras do you wear the most? Do you find yourself reaching for plunge bras or unlined wire bras more? It’s up to you to determine which bra styles you’ll get the most wear out of. One woman might wear t-shirt bras throughout the week while another might consider her black lace bras basics. Everyone is different.

At minimum, you’ll need 2-3 every day bras. Depending on your lifestyle, you might want to add 2-3 sports bras, a bralette, a strapless bra, and a beautiful bra and panty set into the mix. Why 2-3 every day bras? Well, it’s never a good idea to wear the same bra two days in a row. Your bras need time to breathe and get back to their shape. Wearing the same bra every day can shorten the bra’s lifespan by causing it to stretch out much quicker than it normally would. And if it’s laundry day, you might be without a bra while you’re waiting for it to dry.

2.  Choose each piece carefully

When it comes to lingerie, fit is everything. A well-fitting bra can change the way your clothes fit, improve your posture, and give you a little confidence boost. Don’t settle for lingerie that doesn’t fit perfectly.

Remember: The goal is to wear every piece of lingerie you buy. Lingerie is an investment – why waste a penny on a piece you don’t love? There’s nothing worse than a beautiful bra collecting dust in the back of your lingerie drawer because it doesn’t fit or work with your outfits.

Always choose bras that work with the clothes in your closet and never buy panties that rid up, dig in, or leave annoying panty lines. Don’t be afraid to sit, jump, and move around in the fitting room to check the fit. While you’re in the fitting room, give yourself at least five minutes per bra to get a better idea of the comfort level. You could try on a bra that feels great at first but starts hurting or digging into your skin after you’ve worn it for a few minutes. A few extra minutes in the fitting room could save you a trip back to the store to return the bra.

3.  Find which colors, styles, and brands suit you best

We get so used to wearing nude and black every day. Vibrant colors like pink, blue, red, and purple might seem hard to wear, but trust us, there’s a shade out there that will work for you. Remember: Your complexion and hair color play a role in which colors suit you best.

Here’s a quick lingerie guide based on hair color only:

Black: White, silver, cream – neutral hues become dramatic when paired with black hair. For something even more daring, opt for red or emerald green lingerie for a perfect match.

Brown: Warm shades of gold, green, and blue accent beautiful brown hair. If you’re feeling fancy, try a cheery floral print or wild leopard print for a new look you’ll love.

Blonde: Have you tried pastels? Dusty rose, lavender, blush, and peach look stunning on blondes.

Red: Jewel tones are a redhead’s best friend. Burgundy, deep purple, teal, and mustard yellow contrast with your hair color in the most flattering way.

Fantasy colors: Fantasy hair colors like pink, blue, and purple look beautiful with colored lingerie too! If you have blue hair, why not go for a monochromatic look and wear lingerie in a beautiful shade of turquoise, teal, or navy blue?

4.  Take good care of your lingerie

If you take good care of your lingerie, it will take good care of you. How you wash, dry, and store your lingerie has a direct impact on its lifespan. A bra that is frequently put through the dryer won’t last nearly as long as a bra that is laid flat or hung to dry. This also applies to bra that are machine washed and thrown in with your other clothes.

For the most part, the best way to wash lingerie is by hand washing it in cool water with gentle lingerie soap and laying it flat to dry with the bra cups facing up. Panties and babydolls can typically be washed the same, but be sure to check the garment’s care tag first before washing.

5.  Edit your lingerie wardrobe often

Do you still have bras from high school? If you haven’t cleaned out your lingerie drawer in a while, it’s time. We recommend editing your lingerie wardrobe at least twice a year – or every six months after a bra fitting. As you’re editing your wardrobe, make three piles: one for lingerie you want to toss, one for lingerie to donate, and the last one for anything you want to keep.

Toss: Anything stained, damaged, torn, or ripped. Bras with broken straps, damaged underwires, and bent cups should also be torn. Panties that have holes should immediately go into the trash bin.

Donate: Gently worn or unused bras. If you have any bras that you haven’t worn because your bra size changed, you could donate them or give them to a friend that wears that size.

Keep: Bras and panties that fit well. Your lingerie drawer might look bare if it has been a while since your last lingerie shopping trip. Don’t worry – a local lingerie store can help you refresh your lingerie wardrobe with pieces you’ll love!

So there you have it – a few quick tips to get you on your way to building a lingerie wardrobe you love. Did you find it helpful? Let us know in comments below and tell us which Parfait bras you’ll be adding to your closet!

If bra shopping was easy, we’d all be running to our nearest local lingerie stores to buy new bras. Unfortunately, bra shopping can be challenging. Bras are technical garments – there is a lot that you might not consider if you don’t wear a hard-to-find bra size or spend hours researching bra fitting online.

Take the band, for example. Did you know that the band provides 80-90% of a bra’s support? Most people believe that the straps provide the bra’s support, but that’s not the case. For the best fit, opt for a snug, supportive band that you can wear out of the fitting room on the loosest hook. After scooping all of your breast tissue into the cups, positioning the bra so the band is parallel to the floor, and adjusting the straps, you should be able to fit two fingers between your skin and the bra band. A supportive bra band is crucial to the fit of the bra – and something you might not be paying close attention to when trying on new bras.

Here are six more things no one tells you about bra shopping:

1.  Always get a bra fitting

You’re doing yourself a disservice if you’re not getting regular bra fittings. How often should you get a bra fitting? We suggest getting fitted every six months. Don’t wait six months if your clothing size has changed, if you’ve recently become pregnant or had a baby (congrats!), or if you haven’t had a bra fitting in a year or more.

2.  Being openminded is key

If you’re unhappy with your current bra, you have nothing to lose by trying on a bunch of different bras. While you’re shopping, be open to new styles, lingerie brands, and sizes. After a fitting, you might find that your bra size is completely different than what you expected. Based on the recommendation of your bra fitter, you might also find the bra you always wanted but never thought existed in a brand you haven’t tried before.

3.  Dress for comfort

You’ll be trying a lot of bras on, so dress for ease and comfort. Pick easy to throw on pieces and wear comfortable shoes. A comfy pair of jeans or leggings, a favorite t-shirt, and a pair of flats make a great outfit for a day of lingerie shopping.

Related: Ask A Bra Fitter: What Are Bra Fittings Like?

4.  Always bring a t-shirt with you

Even if you don’t wear t-shirts every day, a t-shirt can help you see how a bra would look under fitted clothing. A bra could look gorgeous on but have seams on the cups that show under a t-shirt – making it a style that you might not reach for as often.

5.  Never bra shop during your period

You might notice a change in your breast size when you’re on your period. PMS symptoms may cause bloating, swelling, and tenderness during that time of the month. We suggest waiting until you’re off your period before getting a bra fitting or adding any new bras to your lingerie wardrobe.

6.  Only buy what you love

Chances are you wear lingerie everyday – why not fill your lingerie wardrobe with pieces that you love? When you’re shopping for new bras, choose each one carefully. For an everyday bra, ask yourself: “Do I have at least five outfits I can wear this bra with?” And for every bra, ask yourself: “Do I feel confident in this?” Of course, if you fall in love with a lingerie set, buy it! Life is too short to wear lingerie that doesn’t make you feel beautiful, confident, and empowered.

Love them or hate them – sports bras are an essential part of your lingerie wardrobe. So how do you know when it’s time to toss your sports bra? Read on for the full scoop.

How long should a sports bra last?

With proper care, a high-quality sports bra should last 6-12 months before it needs to be replaced.

When to replace sports bras

1.  The band is stretched out

Is your band letting you down? A snug band is crucial to a supportive sports bra. The band serves as the anchor for the sports bra – providing 85-90% of the bra’s support. To get the best fit, opt for a snug sports band that doesn’t move when you raise your arms. D, DD, and DDD+ cup sizes may benefit from a bra-sized sports bra instead of a S, M, or L sports bra. Also, instead of a sports bra that slides over your head, look for one that has a front closure or back hook and eye closure. This will make it easier to take the bra on and off. A back-closure bra with multiple hooks will also allow you to tighten the bra band as it stretches – meaning you’ll get more out of your purchase than a pullover style.

2.  Your bra size has changed

It’s not uncommon for your bra size to change several times throughout your life. A good rule of thumb is to get a bra fitting every six months. If it has been more than six months since your last bra fitting, we recommend visiting a local lingerie boutique for a fitting. Finding a supportive sports bra could be as simple as changing the size on a style you already love.

3.  The cups don’t fit anymore

Does your sports bra provide enough support for your bust? If your breast tissue is spilling over the cups and creating a ‘quad-boob’ effect, it’s time for a new sports bra. You should never have to worry about your boobs falling out of your bra when you’re working out. A different size or style can help with this.

Related: Are Wired Sports Bras More Supportive Than Wireless Sports Bras?

4.  Your sports bras are worn and torn

You’ve worn the same sports bra for years. Unfortunately, sports bras aren’t designed to last forever. Frequent washing and wearing can cause them to stretch out over time and decrease the amount of support they provide. Make a note of the brand, size, and style or bring it to your local lingerie store and the bra fitters there will help you find a new favorite.

5.  Your workout routine has changed

Your sports bra should match your workout. You wouldn’t wear a strappy yoga bra to a cardio session, right? Low-intensity workouts benefit from lightweight, wireless sports bras, while high-intensity workouts require supportive sports bras that keep breast tissue in place with as little movement as possible. When you’re shopping for sports bras, let the bra fitter know what kind of workouts you’re into. That way she can match you with the right sports bra for your workout routine.

6.  You’re not getting the support you need

No sports bra should hold you back from getting the most out of your workout. If you’re afraid to jump, bend, squat, or stretch because your sports bra isn’t providing the support you need, it’s time for a new sports bra.

On the other hand, maybe you wear a bra under your sports bra because you feel more supported with two bras. I’m here to tell you that you don’t need two sports bras for support – one sports bra should be enough. Set aside some time to shop for a sports bra that provides adequate support. It’s not your fault your current sports bra is letting you down!

7.  You keep putting off shopping for new sports bras

Sports bras are one of the most challenging styles to shop for, but they’re also one of the most important. A well-fitting sports bra will keep your bust supported without putting stress on your shoulders and back.

When it comes to a style that you’ll wear often, like a sports bra, always buy the best quality you can afford. If you’re on a budget, get to know the sales associates at your favorite local lingerie store – they can call you when a style you like goes on sale. If you’re an online shopper, be sure to sign up for on your favorite store’s email list so you never miss a sale.

Not sure how you’re going to fit a bra fitting in your schedule? Call the store ahead of time and make an appointment. Then give yourself 30-45 minutes minimum to shop, guilt-free. This should leave you enough time to get a bra fitting, try on bras, and shop. While you’re there, don’t forget to refresh your lingerie drawer with new everyday bras and panties too!

Do you know how to properly care for your lingerie? Proper care is crucial if you want your lingerie to last and maintain its shape.

You’ve probably heard that it’s never a good idea to wear the same bra two days in a row, so if you have 2-3 bras that you rotate throughout the week you’re already ahead of the game.

Typically, a bra that you wear 3-4 times per week should last about 6 months. Panties might last anywhere from 6-12 months, but it’s best to replace them as soon as they show signs of wear and tear.

Taking good care of your lingerie ensures that it’ll last as long as possible. Remember: Lingerie care extends beyond the washer. How you’re drying and storing your lingerie is just as important as how you’re washing it.

So what’s the best way to wash, dry, and store lingerie? Read on for a quick guide that covers basic lingerie care.

How to wash lingerie

Hand washing vs. machine washing

Handwashing is the best way to wash your bras. We recommend handwashing lingerie with cool water and a delicate soap specifically formulated for lingerie and delicates. If you don’t have time to handwash, machine washing is another option.

Be sure to wash on a delicate cycle in cool water with gentle detergent. And always separate your bras from your panties and use separate mesh lingerie bags to keep them from snagging or getting caught on each other in the wash.

Machine washing can be a bit rougher on your undergarments, so we highly recommend checking the garment’s care tags before washing as some fabrics, like silk for example, need to be hand washed.

How to dry lingerie

Avoid the dryer

Even if you’re in a hurry, never ever throw your bras in the dryer. The heat from the dryer can break down elastic, ruin the cups, damage the hooks, and stretch out the fabric. If you’re guilty of throwing your bras in the dryer, this could be the reason why you’re having to replace your bras so often.

Lay your bras flat to dry with the cups facing up

The best way to dry your bras is flat with the cups facing up. This method allows the bras to dry on their own without any tension. If you’re used to drying your bras on a hanger, you might want to try laying them flat instead. Hanging them by the straps can put tension on the straps and cause them to stretch out.

Hanging them to dry

Another option is to hang your bras over a hanger by the center gore. The center gore is typically made of little to no stretch, so this is a safer way to hang dry. But laying them flat to dry is the best option.

How to store bras and panties

The best way to store your bras and panties is in a lined drawer away from sunlight. Be sure to avoid stuffing all of your lingerie into one drawer – you want your lingerie to have space to breathe.

Before you start

First things first, get rid of anything that doesn’t fit. It you don’t feel confident in it, toss it. If it’s stained, torn, holey, damaged or it doesn’t fit anymore, get rid of it. Bras that are unworn or gently worn can always be donated or given to a friend that wears that size.

If you have a favorite bra that you’re having a hard time parting with, make note of the bra’s style so you can repurchase it. If that style isn’t made anymore, bring the bra with you on your next shopping trip (seriously!) and let the bra fitter know that you’re looking for a replacement. She’ll be more than happy to help you out!

Now that you’ve cleaned out your lingerie wardrobe, it’s time to refresh it with new lingerie. Here’s how to organize everything:

Molded bras, push-up bras, strapless bras, and padded bras

These styles can be stored in a drawer with each bra stacked behind the other and the cups facing forward. Molded bras need special care as the cups can become bent or misshapen if stored incorrectly. Never ever fold your molded bra in half and store it away as this can ruin the cups.

If your strapless bra came with removable straps, keep them in the same drawer as your bras so they’re easy to find if you need them.

Bralettes, unlined wire bras, halter bras, and bandeaus

Non-molded bras are the only styles that can be stored with the bra folded in half and the cups facing each other. You can also stack these styles on top of each other in a drawer for easy access.

Wired and wireless babydolls and bodysuits

These styles can be hung up on a pretty satin hanger or carefully stored away in a drawer.

Panties (all styles)

These can be folded or placed in a lined drawer away from bras, babydolls, and garter belts as the hooks can snag delicate undergarments. We suggest sorting panties by style or color.

So there you have it – a quick guide to lingerie care. We hope you find it helpful!

How well do you know your bra styles? We’re covering your favorites and more in our multi-part guide.

Read on for part five of our simple guide with three more bra styles you need to know – bralettes, underwire babydolls, and wire-free bodysuits.

1.  Bralette

What is a bralette?

Bralettes are often characterized by their wireless cups and lightweight support. Bralettes offer a comfortable yet supportive alternative to a t-shirt bra. Like most bras, 80-90% of their support comes from the band – so it’s important to opt for a bralette with a snug fit.

Bralettes make excellent maternity bras, sleep bras, and lounge bras. Once you find a bralette you love, you probably won’t want to take it off!

Why wear bralettes?

There are many different styles of bralette bras. There are lace bralettes, racerback bralettes, modal bralettes, embroidered bralettes, etc. Some believe that bralettes can only be worn by women with small boobs, but that just isn’t the case. Bralettes are versatile bras that can be worn by all women – even large cup sizes. Simply put, there is truly a bralette out there for everyone.

How to wear bralettes

Bralettes often feature beautiful details that are pretty enough to peek out of tank tops and off the shoulder sweaters. Pair with your favorite t-shirt or open back dress for comfortable support!

2.  Underwire Babydolls

What is an underwire babydoll?

Underwire babydolls are a style of nightie or babydoll that features cups with underwire. Underwire babydolls can be worn at home, to sleep, or at a boudoir photo shoot. With their seamed cups, strategic shaping, and flattering body, underwire babydolls are statement-making weapons of seduction.

Underwire babydolls are usually designed with a supportive band, back hook and eye closure, and adjustable straps. They can have either a fitted or flowy body. The fabric can vary – some are made exclusively of lace while others are a combination of mesh and lace, for example.

Why wear underwire babydolls?

Underwire babydolls offer the support of your favorite bra combined with the sexiness of a flirty chemise. They are beautiful pieces of lingerie that feel incredibly glamourous on.

3.  Wire Free Bodysuits

What is a wire-free bodysuit?

Designed to shape and smooth your curves, wire-free bodysuits typically feature cups without underwire. Their wireless fit offers light lift and support. Wire-free bodysuits are designed to be worn year-round. They’re also perfect for lounging in around the house or worn under a favorite outfit for an extra dose of glam.

Why wear wire free bodysuits?

Wire-free bodysuits are an alternative to wired bodysuits. The wireless cups are comfortable for all-day wear and the fit of the body is incredibly flattering on all women. Some wireless bodysuits are more like shapewear than loungewear – it really depends on the fabric and the fit. If you’re looking for a wire free bodysuit that will fit more like shapewear, opt for a sturdy fabric like power mesh. On the other hand, if you’re shopping for a wireless bodysuit that looks cute and is a great fashion piece, fabrics like lace, cotton, and modal are excellent choices.

How to wear wire-free bodysuits

Wire-free bodysuits can be worn on their own or under your favorite boyfriend jeans. This ultra-versatile style looks stunning when paired with a high waisted skirt for an effortlessly chic look.

Do you wear underwire with a bodysuit?

It’s up to you! Most bodysuits are designed with a lined gusset for comfort, so you really don’t need to wear underwear. It all comes down to personal preference.

Have you ever had a bra fitting? If not, you’re missing out. Bra fittings are an essential part of bra shopping – you wouldn’t buy a pair of jeans without trying them on first, would you? Just like jeans, bras are another garment that you absolutely have to try on before you buy.

Bra shopping isn’t easy – if it was easy, no one would complain about their bras, right? This is where bra fitters come in. Bra fitters are fit and product experts in the lingerie industry. They’re trained to measure for your bra size, determine which bra styles will work best for you, and introduce to new bras that you would have never tried yourself. Chances are good that you’re not the first person to come to them with a bra fit problem. Bra fitters help thousands of women every day find the solution to their bra fit problems.

Here are some common bra fitting problems bra fitters can help with:

1.  Your breast tissue spills out of your bra

Does your breast tissue spill over the top or sides of your cups? What about the bottom of the bra – does your breast tissue try to escape from the bottom too? Chances are your bra is too small. A bra fitter knows how to fix this.

2.  Your bra straps slip off your shoulders

Ever wonder why your bra straps slide off your shoulders? Don’t worry – it’s a common problem with an easy fix.

3.  Your bra band rides up your back

Do you notice your bra band move up your back throughout the day? It’s likely you need a smaller band size. A bra fitter can re-measure your bra size and suggest better bras.

4.  The bra’s underwire digs into your skin

If your bra’s underwire digs into your skin and causes pain and discomfort, one of two things could be happening: your bra band is too tight or your bra cups are too small. A profession bra fitting can help with this.

5.  Your bra cups gap

Do you have empty space in your bra cups? Try the scoop and swoop first: holding the left cup with your left hand, reach into the bra cup with your right hand and pull your breast tissue toward the center. Repeat on the other side. This should redistribute and center your breast tissue for a fuller fit.

If this doesn’t fix the gaping cups, a bra fitter can re-fit you and make sure you’re wearing the right bra size.

6.  Your bra band is uncomfortable

If you find yourself pulling and tugging at your bra band all day long, it’s time to try a different style. Sometimes the bra size is correct but the style is not the best for your breast shape. A bra fitter can make recommendations and bring you bras that you’ll actually want to wear.

7.  You can’t find a supportive strapless bra

Strapless bras are among most challenging bras to shop for. There is a lot to consider when shopping for a supportive strapless bra – especially if you wear a larger bra size. A bra fitter can help you out.

8.  You’re convinced you’ll never find a bralette in your size

Love them or hate them, bralettes are here to stay. We love the ease and comfort that a bralette provides, but they are tricky to shop for. If you’re still searching for the bralette of your dreams, head to a local lingerie store and let an expert hand pick bralettes for you to try.

If you need new bras, your local lingerie boutique is the place to go. Local lingerie boutiques have trained bra fitters happy to help you find the bras that fit well and feel good. They’ll solve your bra fitting problems and teach you everything you need to know about caring for your new bras. Perfect!

Happy bra shopping!

Looking for the best place to get a bra fitting? We’ve got you covered.

Here are just a few reasons why your local lingerie boutique is the best place to get fitted for a bra:

1.  You get one-on-one help from a professional bra fitter

Your bra size will likely change several times throughout your life. Bra fittings help to determine your bra size, find the bra styles that work best for your breast shape, and solve any fit problems you might have.

Most bra fitters ask numerous questions to figure out what you need, so don’t be surprised if your fitter asks you a lot of questions in your bra fitting. They might ask: Do you like a snug band or a looser one? Do you have any fabric sensitivities? Is there anything bothering you about your current bra? When was the last time you had a bra fitting? How do you wash your bras? All of this is discussed in a bra fitting.

2.  Bra fittings are typically free

Did you know that bra fittings are typically free? It’s true. Most stores provide bra fittings free of charge. Why you ask? Well, bra fittings give you and the bra fitter a better idea of your bra size and what types of bras will suit you best. Sure it’s an extra step, but it’s well worth the time invested. Lingerie stores offer this service because they want to help you find bras that fit well. Since bras are such technical garments, they need to know more than your bra size – like your breast shape and fit preferences, for example.

Keep in mind that some stores do charge for bra fittings, but these stores typically apply the charge to a purchase in the store.

3.  Local lingerie stores save you time

Who wouldn’t want a personal shopper? Local lingerie boutiques take personal shopping to the next level. Based on your consultation and bra fitting in the fitting room, the bra fitter will hand pick bras for you based on your bra size, breast shape, budget, and fit and color preferences. You can relax knowing that someone is doing all the lingerie shopping for you (which isn’t easy!) No more ordering a bunch of bras and hoping one fits. The bra fitter will do all the work for you in-store.

4.  You get to take your new bras home with you

When you order lingerie online, you have to wait for it to arrive at your door. Then you have to try the bras on and determine which ones you’re going to keep and which ones you’re going to send back. Shopping at a lingerie store is different. You can take your new bras home with you (and even wear one out if you want!) You won’t have to worry about returning anything that doesn’t fit because the bra fitter will take care of the fitting and sizing for you – giving you peace of mind that you found the best possible bras for your breast shape.

Without a doubt, local lingerie boutiques are among the best places to get fitted for a bra. Check out our store locator here to find a local lingerie store near you or type ‘lingerie stores near me’ and your zip code into Google to find your local stores.

Do you find yourself fixing your bra straps throughout the day? If you’re constantly pulling up your straps, you likely have narrow shoulders. There is absolutely nothing wrong with having narrow shoulders – you’ll just find that some bra styles work better for you than others.

Take a balconette bra, for example. Balconette bras have wide set straps, which are a nightmare for narrow shoulders. No matter what you do, the positioning of the straps will keep them from staying in place on sloping shoulders. Racerback bras, on the other hand, are an excellent choice for narrow shoulders. The straps are cut closer to the center of the body, so they have limited space to move around.

Curious which other bra styles suit narrow shoulders? Read on for our top picks!

1.  Racerback bras

best bra style for narrow shoulders

Lynn Y-Back Front Closure Bra P13122 | Lynn Brazilian Thong P13014 in Black

Racerback bras are a superior choice for narrow shoulders. These bras are cut closer to the neck and feature a triangle shaped back that anchors to the bra band for extra support. The front closure also makes it easy to take the bra on and off.

2.  U-back bras

best bra for large breasts and narrow shoulders

Irene Unlined Wire Bra P5332 in Ivory

Larger bust sizes may benefit from U-back bras. U-back, or leotard back, bras are characterized by the U-shape that is made by the bra’s back band, wings, and straps. The design features inset straps to avoid slippage.

3.  Strapless bras

best bra for narrow shoulders

Jeanie Contour Strapless 4815 | Jeanie High Cut Brief 4803 in Black

How about wearing a bra without straps? A strapless bra might be just what you need. Look for a supportive band with side boning (to keep the bra from rolling up), anti-slip silicone tape along the inner band and cups, and a back hook and eye closure.

4.  Bras with J-hooks

best bra for sloping shoulders

Dalis Bralette P5641 in Black

J-hooks make it possible to transform a t-shirt bra into a racerback bra in one easy step. All you have to do is join the back straps and fasten them together at the back to change the fit. We love J-hook bras because you get two bra styles in one: a regular bra and a racerback bra.

5.  Bras with slings

bra strap slides down due to shoulder slope

Mariela Contour Padded Bra P5581 | Marion Bikini P5583 in Nightshadow

Slings are a design element meant to push breast tissue toward the center of the bra. You may find slings on the outer cup or at the bottom of the cup for additional lift. These bras will ensure that your breast tissue is centered and not splayed outward, as this can redistribute the breasts in an unflattering way and cause the straps to slide off shoulders.

6.  High neck bras

why does my bra strap fall off my shoulder

Evoke Padded High Neck Bra A1581 | Evoke Bikini A1583 in Blush/Purple
(This bra is from our sister line, MOD By Parfait!)

High neck bras are designed to fit closer to the neck and feature inset straps. High neck bras are supportive and beautiful additions to any lingerie wardrobe. We recommend large cups size seek a high neck bra with built-in cups and a power mesh-lined band for extra support.

You might think you’re alone if you have narrow shoulders, but it’s actually pretty common. You just have to know which styles work best for narrow and sloping shoulders.

If you’re having trouble finding bras that fit, visit your local lingerie boutique. They’ll help you find bras that stay in place and show off your beautiful shape. Perfect!
