In this series, we’re sharing our favorite styles (and a few reasons why you’re sure to love them too.)

The Elissa Low Back Bustier is a strapless longline bra with padded molded cups. True to its longline silhouette, this stunning style smoothes and contours the waist and hips with a firm fit and strategic boning. The foam-lined padded cups are covered in smooth microfiber and molded for a seamless look under clothing.

The anti-slip silicone tape on the inside of the cups helps to keep the cups in place. The low back design further adds to its versatility. The multi-hook back closure and wide bottom band ensure that the bustier doesn’t budge. Beautiful lace details down the center of the bustier are a chic finishing touch.

The Elissa Low Back Bustier is a new addition to the Elissa collection. This stunning collection also features a supportive strapless bra and bikini panty with sheer lace panels. Unlike the strapless bra and bikini, the Elissa Low Back Bustier is pared down with less lace. In fact, the only lace you’ll find is on the vertical center panel of the bra. Other than that, the bra is constructed in microfiber.

If you’re shopping for a longline bustier, you might be having trouble deciding which fabric to choose. After all, longline bras come in many different styles with varying degrees of padding and support. Though lace is always beautiful, microfiber does have its perks. Due to the nature of the fabric, your dresses and tops will glide over it – making it easier to zip into a form-fitting outfit. Additionally, the cups of the Elissa Low Back Bustier are seamless for a clean line, so you won’t have to worry about the bra cups showing underneath clothing. It’s an excellent alternative to a waist trainer or corset if you’re looking for a little smoothing and shaping.

A few fit tips: The body of the bustier is firm with a hint of stretch. This style is designed to mold to the contours of the body. If you’ve worn a waist trainer or corset before, you’ll likely feel at home with the snug fit. However, if you’re not used to a snug fit, you may want to try on your sister size (one size bigger in the band and one size smaller in the cup) and see how it feels.

When shopping for a longline bra, it’s best to pick the size that fits well in the cups and feels snug – not uncomfortable or painful – through the body. It should feel like a big hug around your ribcage. Bustiers can take some getting used to if they’re new to you, so don’t be afraid to wear it around the house (as it will stretch a little with wear) before the wedding or big event so you can get used to the fit. Lastly, if you find that a bustier isn’t the right choice for you, opt for a strapless bra instead.

How to style the Elissa Low Back Bustier

The low back design is one of the best features of the Elissa Low Back Bustier – making it a beautiful foundation for a wedding dress or special occasion dress. This bra works best with fitted dresses and tops that have ruching or design details to camouflage the boning (a very important design component for bustiers as it helps the bustier to keep its shape). A form-fitting dress that has an a-line or skater skirt would be a great choice. This style may show through thin, clingy dresses and tops, so please keep that in mind when shopping for a bustier.

The Elissa Low Back Bustier is available in Black, Pearl White, and Nude.

Care

washing bras

Proper care is crucial if you want your lingerie to last. We recommend washing bras and panties in cold water and avoiding the dryer at all costs. Hand washing lingerie is the gentlest option (as it involves the least amount of agitation), but machine washing on the delicate cycle is also an option if you don’t have time to hand wash. If you do machine wash your bras, be sure to hook them first, separate the colors (bright colors may bleed onto your light-colored bras), and sort them into mesh lingerie bags. Panties should also be sorted by color and placed in separate bags so the bra hooks don’t snag delicate underwear.

To wash, use a gentle detergent or laundry soap designed for lingerie and wash them on a delicates cycle in cold water. Once they’re washed, either hang dry them (drape the center front of the bra over the hanger – don’t hang a wet bra by its straps) or lay them flat to dry (away from sunlight which can cause the colors to fade over time) with the cups facing up.

Lastly, be extra careful when storing your bras. For molded bras, line them up in a drawer with the cups facing up – one bra in front of the other. Unlined bras, bralettes, and non-molded sports bras can be folded in half and stacked on top of each other to save space. Panties can be folded and sorted by color or style in a lingerie drawer.

One last thing…

Education is a big part of my job as a bra fitter. I feel fortunate to be partnering with Parfait on creating lingerie-related content with the goal of helping readers make educated and empowered shopping decisions. There is so much to bra fitting that we can’t cover in a single blog post, so the goal since the very beginning of the blog has been to tackle it one article at a time.

If you have any questions about any of these products or if you would like us to do a review on one we haven’t done yet, let us know in the comments below.
