You’ve cheered as the clock struck midnight and had your new year’s kiss, so what do you need to do next? Well, why not kick off this new year by making some positive changes in your home and, more precisely, your lingerie drawer?

Here’s why it’s the perfect time to tidy up that drawer and make sure that it’s more organized than ever:

Your lingerie needs room to breathe

Here’s a little-known secret that we’re happy to let you in on: Lingerie needs room to breathe! When storing your quality bras and briefs, you need to make sure that they have the right amount of space. If you happen to be guilty of packing these items tightly into a small space, you’re making a grave mistake! Take a look at the current state of your lingerie drawer and be honest with yourself. Is it time that you had a real clear out?

You can make your lingerie last longer

When you invest in some fancy pieces of lingerie, you want them to stand the test of time. This is especially true if you happen to adore the sets that you have at the moment. So, with that in mind, you want to do everything you can to make your bras last longer. This may be something that has never even crossed your mind, but it’s vitally important.

While you may not realize it at first, storing your lingerie in an organized way could mean that the pieces last longer. For one thing, it means that the material won’t be stressed out by the pressure of being shoved in a small space. You will also find that things, such as the bone and band, will be kept in much better condition too.

Decluttering is good for your well-being

Decluttering isn’t only great for your lifestyle, it also impacts your mind. The truth of the matter is that your physical environment often impacts your mental well-being. For instance, if your home is always messy and untidy, you may find that trying to relax on the sofa is more difficult that it ought to be. Similarly, if you have a sparklingly clean abode, it’s likely to be super simple to unwind after a long day at work.

There’s no reason that this logic shouldn’t apply to the likes of your lingerie drawer as well. When you pull that drawer out and it’s filled to the brim with old and often unused clothing, it’s sure to have an impact on how you feel. So, tidying up and sorting out the space really is a no-brainer here.

You can (and should) get rid of old, worn items

Let’s face it – we all tend to hold onto things much longer than we should. If you’re guilty of *gasp* hoarding old items, you really need to think about clearing out your drawer. It’s completely illogical to keep old, worn out items that you are never going to use or wear again. Doing so only makes your drawer look more cluttered than it needs to be and has a negative effect on how you feel when you open it.

To solve this very problem, take each item out of the drawer one piece at a time. Take a look at it. Question whether it’s still the right size, whether it’s in decent condition, and crucially whether you still wear it. The answers to these questions will help you figure out whether you need to get rid of the item or keep it. Simple.

And those items that you just don’t love

Oh, and by the way, it’s not just items that are old which you should be saying goodbye to here. If you have bras or briefs that you simply don’t wear because you don’t love them, you don’t need to hold onto them. Whether they were misguided gifts or just impulse buys, if you’re not going to wear them, you shouldn’t keep them. It’s that simple. If they are decent quality, though, don’t throw them out. You can donate your bras instead.

It will make getting ready easier than ever

Once you’ve gone ahead and tidied up your drawer, it will completely change the way you feeling about getting dressed. If you’ve managed to put various types of lingerie in different sections – everyday to fancy wear – getting ready will be ultra easy. That means no more searching through your drawer to find your fave t-shirt bra; it will be just where you left it. There’s a whole lot to be said for good organization from time to time.

Remember:

The new year is a truly great time to get organized and sort out those tasks that you may have been putting off for quite some time. Starting 2018 off right means taking the time to get on top of all those things. Organizing your lingerie drawer is not only a great move for your clothing, but it also means that you will feel freer and happier when it comes to getting dressed each morning! It really is a win-win situation.

Lingerie shopping is nothing short of a pleasure, which it’s so very important that you find a store that you adore. But with so much choice out there, where should you start? Here is some much-needed advice to help you with just that!

Check out the stores in your area

Okay, the first step here is pretty obvious. You need to figure out what stores there are in your local area. Whether you’ve just moved to a new place or been in the same one since as long as you can remember, this is a useful thing to do.

You can use our store locator to find out which lingerie boutiques are near you. It could be quite enlightening – you may come across some that you had no idea existed. Once you know what’s out there, it’s time to delve a little deeper and find out what each store has to offer you. There are, of course, a whole load of different ways in which you can do this.

Ask your friends and family for recommendations

You may never have asked your friends where they buy their lingerie, but why on earth not? It doesn’t have to be an awkward conversation. In fact, this is something that we should all be able to talk about openly. The women in your life may have all the answers you need.

Since they all need to get stunning lingerie pieces too, they are a great place to start. Why not ask around and see whether there’s anyone out there who has a favorite store that they would like to recommend? That way, you will figure out the best place to go without having to do any of the hard work! Bonus.

Read some helpful reviews online

Never underestimate the value of reviews. When people have a retail experience that they love or, indeed, hate, they want to tell the world all about it. Luckily, the internet is rife with places where they can have their say and let just about everyone out there know what they think. That’s good news for you because it means that you can get a sneak peek at their opinions in no time at all.

So, where should you start? Well, you may just want to Google the names of stores in your areas and see what comes up. You could find that there are reviews that are easily searchable. If that doesn’t fetch you any results, why not just go to their Facebook page? Customers can ‘rate’ stores and retailers on the social media platform, which means that you may find some reliable consumer advice there too.

Look for a store with a wide size range

Of course, one of your biggest concerns will likely be whether the store has your size. Many boutiques have a broad range so it’s worth making sure that you find the right one. When you do visit the stores, take a look at the various sizes they have and what ranges they have on offer. That way, you should be able to figure out if it’s the right place for you to shop or not.

Needless to say, smaller stores may lack the entire range all of the time. If that’s the case, though, you shouldn’t be disheartened. Instead, speak to one of the staff members and ask them just what they have. You may find that, even if they don’t have your particular size, they can order it in for you especially. This should be the level of care and support you get in small, boutique retailers.

Visit each store for a fitting

When you’ve got a few stores in mind, there’s another thing that you should do. Go ahead and book yourself in for a fitting. It may sound odd but having this experience in a store will help you decide if it’s the right one for you. This is something that you should be doing on a regular basis anyway so it won’t hurt to go ahead and get measured again. At least that way, you will know that you’re getting the right size.

What’s more, during the fitting, you will get an idea of how the store operates and what level of service you can expect. You can engage with your fitter and ask them questions about lingerie, style, and anything else in between. Be sure to take the chance to do just that and you may learn a whole lot along the way.

Take note of how the staff treats you

Finally, you should take note of how each staff member treats you and how you feel. When you’re buying something as crucial as lingerie, you need to make sure that you feel comfortable at all times. The staff members play a pretty major role in just that. If you don’t feel happy with how you are treated in the store, the chances are that it’s not the place for you. If, on the other hand, you feel respected and well looked after, you may be onto a winner.

The quest to find a great lingerie store where you feel secure and happy needn’t be a long one. Once you’ve followed the advice here, you should find that nothing is easier! Before you know it, you will have your favorite store and even know the staff by name too.

It may feel as though the new year has only just dawned, but soon enough, the summer breeze will be blowing. If you’ve yet to find a swimsuit that you absolutely adore, you’ve come to the right place.

Here’s how you can define your swimsuit style this year:

Take your time to look around

Before you do anything at all, it’s worth taking the time to look around and figure out what’s out there. As with any style of clothing, the swimsuit trends change from year to year, which means that it really pays to find something that you love each time around.

When the summer starts to loom, set aside some time to do your research, find out what the biggest fashions of the season are, and figure out what you want. Doing your homework here could mean that you get the suit of your dreams.

Mimic your natural fashion sense

By now, you’ve probably got your own fashion sense down. You know what you like. You know what you don’t. You know which particular styles happen to flatter your shape and make you feel totally awesome. So, why should things be any different when it comes to your swimsuit style?

This is merely an extension of your fashion sense and don’t you forget it. That means that you only need to build upon the clothing choices you already make and opt for something that complements them well.

Avoid sticking to the same old thing

Be honest for a minute here. When was the last time you tried a new style of swimsuit? Over the years, you’ve probably gone with the same old thing time and time again. You know what I’m talking about; that plain black one-piece hasn’t changed all that much for quite some time.

While there’s nothing wrong with keeping things classically simple, there’s a whole lot to be said for trying something that’s outside your comfort zone for once too. You may just find that it’s the best thing you ever do.

Choose a modern, chic look

Once you’ve done all of the above, it’s time to really get down to it and choose your swimsuit style. Remember, when you opt to shake things up, choosing a contemporary look for yourself is really the only way to go.

If class and sophistication is your middle name, we may have just the thing for you. The Flair one-piece swimsuits are the epitome of style, seeing modern vibes meet a retro cut. Play with colors and tones

Of course, no matter which style you ultimately choose, there’s another decision left to make. These days, there is a wide range of colors and tones that each suit comes in. That means that you have the chance to experiment with different styles and see which one suits you the best. Remember, you needn’t shy away from strong, out there patterns. Sometimes, it’s these seemingly racy decisions that can pay off in a major way.

Be strong, confident, and fierce

Once you have a swimsuit that makes you feel wonderful, go ahead and show it off. There’s nothing like a splash of confidence to complete your look. Feeling fierce and beautiful in your swimwear means that the whole world will want to stare… for all the right reasons. Okay. Confession time. Until very recently, I hadn’t had a bra fitting for years. I’m not talking a year or two here… I’m talking four or perhaps even five years. It had got to the point where I couldn’t actually recall the last time I’d checked that I was wearing the right size. I just assumed that if it felt right, it must be right. Oh, how very wrong I was.

Last month, since my birthday was coming up and I wanted to look killer in my lacy red dress, I decided to bite the bullet. Honestly, I’m not sure what had taken me so long. It wasn’t that I was scared to get fitted. It was merely that I was too lazy to take the time to do it. Month after month, it slipped smoothly down to the bottom of my to-do list until I stopped contemplating it altogether. That meant that when I finally did head to the store to get it done, it was all pretty alien to me. Here’s what I learned:

Booking a bra fitting appointment is always a smart move

I was lucky. Very lucky. I headed into the city, walked straight to my nearest boutique lingerie store, and got an appointment. But, as the friendly fitter pointed out to me, that is not always the case. In fact, it’s something of a rarity. Often enough, the fitter said, she is fully booked from opening time to closing time. If you’re hoping to squeeze in a fitting, especially in a smaller store, it really does pay to take the time to book in advance. At least then you can be 100% certain that you will get seen to.

Bra fittings take longer than you think

Did I mention that this was all pretty alien to me? I made a silly move here. I was under the naive impression that it would take a few minutes to get my bra fitted. So, despite being en route to my friend’s engagement dinner (a soiree you do not want to be late for), I decided to stop at the lingerie store.

The bra fitting process took much longer than the time I had set aside for it. I was in the changing room of the store for around 25 minutes, which came as a huge surprise to me. It’s not just a case of getting measured and told what size you are; you have to try on a bunch of bras too. Don’t panic – I still made it to the dinner on time… with a minute or two to spare.

You have to be direct and honest with the bra fitter

I have to admit that I was a little nervous about the whole thing. Talking to another woman about my breasts seemed… intimidating. I needn’t have worried, though. In truth, the fitter was a real pro. She knew what she was talking about. I quickly found that the best way to deal with the situation was to be honest and direct.

She asked me the obvious – how long had it been since I was last measured. While I briefly considered lying, I thought better of it and told her the truth. There was no judgment there; she just wanted to help. There were more questions than I’d imagined, but each of them served a specific purpose. What’s more, the fitter was so very helpful that I felt at ease right away.

You can wear different sizes in different bras

After I’d been measured and the fitter had pulled out a rather snazzy plunge bra (ideal for my dress), I thought we were done. It fit me like a glove. I was ready to pull my clothes back on and head for the checkout, when she stopped me. It wasn’t over yet. Not by a long shot. She told me to wait just a moment as there was one thing left to do.

The fitter went back out to the store floor to find me a range of bras in different styles. As she explained to me, your size can vary depending on which style you choose so it’s best to get a good overview of the size you should be buying. She had me try a full-cup bra and a t-shirt bra too. Sure enough, my cup size varied a little between these styles.

The bra fitter might give you extra advice

Since I’d walked in there for a specific bra, I wasn’t all that interested in the other styles available. However, I soon learned that different styles suit different people. The fitter was patient with me and explained that since my size was on the larger side (not bragging here… it’s just a fact), I may be better with a full-cup bra. It was certainly news to me, but she was oh-so-right!

I hadn’t expected her to be so brimming with advice and help along the way, and yet it was just what I needed in the end. I left the store with a well-fitted bra that really suits my shape and feels fantastic. So, my advice to everyone else out there would be this: Listen to your fitter. She really is an expert. Oh, and don’t leave it as long as I did to get fitted; it’s worth getting it done every few months. That’s the rule I’ll be living by from now on anyway.

Is it time to get fitted? Every now and then, you have to make sure that your bra measurements are right. That means a trip to the stores to see a fitter! Remember to book ahead so that you have got a spot ready and waiting for you. So, what should you do when you get there? Well, here are some key tips that you may just want to keep in mind:

Do

Do set aside plenty of time for your fitting

This should come as no real shock: Bra fittings take time. There are not as quick as you might expect. When something is worth doing, it’s worth doing right. That means that you need to allow enough time to get the job done. If you’re popping into a store in between other things throughout the day, you’re only going to end up stressed. It’s not worth it. Instead, schedule some real time to get fitted. You won’t regret it.

Do bring any special clothing items

Do you have a special dress that you’re hoping to get a bra for? If you already have an outfit in mind, bring it along. It may sound odd, but it’s the best way to get what you need. Explain to your fitter that you’re looking for a bra that suits the clothes and that you’d like to try different sizes with the piece. They will be more than happy to help you figure out what works. Of course, some outfits are especially tricky to find lingerie for, and so having the items there with you will make the entire process much smoother and take out any guess-work. Easy!

Do have a few bra styles in mind

Some women find that they are different sizes in different bra styles. For example, you may be an E cup in a plunge bra but an F cup in a t-shirt bra. Before you get fitted, let your fitter know what type of bra you intend on buying. This will help the fitter figure out what’s right for you and what you need from them. They aren’t mind-readers! They will write down which cup sizes you are in different bras for you. That means that you will know just what size you need to get depending on what you’re getting at any given time.

Do listen to the advice the fitter gives

As I’ve already mentioned, the fitter will know their stuff. It’s that simple. When you’re getting measured, be sure to listen to what they have to say. Their advice is pure gold. They may be able to help you figure out what type of bra suits your shape or what your sister sizes are. Knowing these things will make lingerie shopping a whole lot more enjoyable and, frankly, easier in the long run. Take the time to really talk to your fitter and pick their brain about anything you may have in mind. After all, this is about getting your size just right and feeling ultra confident in the bra you choose.

Don’t

Don’t get fitted while you’re bloated or on your period

The very last thing that you need is to get an inaccurate measurement. If you’ve just eaten or you’re menstruating, you may find that you feel a tad bloated and uncomfortable. That may also mean that your measurements are a little off. Instead, make sure that you go to get fitted when you’re at your most comfortable. The process won’t be enjoyable when you’re feeling out of sorts and you could end up messing up your sizings. It’s just not worth the hassle to go back a second time so get it right the first time around.

Don’t be afraid to ask questions

If there is anything that you need help with or any concerns you have, ask the fitter. They know their stuff. No question is too small or too silly for them to answer. They will want to help you in any way that they can, which means that you can be bold and say what you need to say. Maybe you should write down your thoughts ahead of time. That way, you will know just what to ask when you get there.

Don’t bring someone with you if you’d rather shop on your own

Whether it’s your BFF, your mom, or your partner, you shouldn’t drag anyone along with you. Sure, you may like the company when shopping (who doesn’t?!) but the last thing you need is someone trying to hurry you up. This is supposed to be a leisurely, relaxed activity, not something that is rushed and hurried along. Suppose you’re at the mall with your friend, tell them to go grab a coffee while you get fitted. It means that they won’t be lingering and the pressure will be 100% off you! Phew.

Whether it’s your first time getting fitted or you’re a pro at it, remembering the etiquette is key here. So long as you keep these recommendations in mind, you should find your size and get the perfect bra for you. What could be better than that?

Is there anything we should add to the list? Let us know in the comments below!

Whether you’ve got a serious case of wanderlust or just like to dabble in the odd bit of travel, getting out there and seeing the world is an awesome pastime. While you’re skipping from country to country or city to city, you need to make sure that you have all the right things packed in your bag. Here are just six lingerie essentials you mustn’t forget!

1.  Convertible Bra

plus size convertible bra

Parfait Contour Underwire Strapless Bra P5011 in Nude

One of the biggest problems with traveling is that you need to fit all your stuff in a small space. That means that you may not have much room in your suitcase at all. In that case, you’re going to need to choose a multipurpose bra for every occasion. The convertible bra is just that (and a whole lot more!).

The truly refreshing thing about this particular piece of lingerie is that you can wear it for pretty much any occasion. Whether you need a casual, yet supportive bra or a strapless number, this is the one for you. You can take one strap off or even both to give a totally new effect to the piece. As if that weren’t enough, you can criss-cross the straps to ensure that the bra goes with any outfit you take.

2.  Swimsuit

best travel swimsuit

You never know when a swimming opportunity may arise. Let’s say you’re heading on vacay – there could easily be a pool or the sea waiting for you there. Even if you’re not going somewhere tropical, you should still pack a swimsuit. Many hotels have spa areas where you can enjoy a quick steam or even a relaxing time in the hot tub. Should you turn up without a swimsuit, you will be sorely disappointed and end up missing out.

Take a piece that makes you feel utterly confident which is also practical. Remember, the suit has to be fit for purpose. You need to be able to wear it to swim in (of course!) and to relax around the pool area in. There are loads of beautiful suits out there so take your pick.

3.  Mesh Lingerie Bag

Of course, if you’re going away for more than a couple of days, you may need to wash your lingerie. The last thing you want is to ruin it so you should take a mesh wash bag. The bag will protect your delicates when you put them in the machine, which is a huge help. What’s more, you can actually use the bag to pack your lingerie in when you travel too. That way, you can keep it separate from the rest of your belongings in your case. Easy.

4.  Boyshorts

Comfort is everything when you’re traveling. You may want to take boyshorts with you in your case, but you could also wear them on your journey. The truly brilliant thing about these types of brief is that they are cozy, elegant, and comfortable. You will look wonderful in them while also feeling as snug as a bug in a rug. It really makes perfect sense.

You will, of course, want to take a few different pairs of briefs with you, but just make sure that there are some of this style in there. Moving from place to place can be hard (not to mention tiring!) enough without having to be uncomfortable. Keep that in mind, and you should be absolutely fine.

5.  Highwaist Briefs (or a few pairs of your favorite underwear)

While you’ll have already packed some boyshorts, you will need a different style of briefs ready to wear. Why not pack a few high waisted panties? These type of briefs are ideal for most situations, especially if you happen to be wearing a tight fitted skirt or the like. You don’t want the line of your briefs to be visible, but if you choose the right ones, they won’t. There are loads of different styles and colors out there so it’s just about choosing one of them that suits your own fun personality. Go ahead and go a little wild here!

6.  Your Favorite Bra

If you have a killer outfit that needs a plunge bra or push-up bra, don’t you forget to take it with you! While a convertible piece can suit most outfits, some outfits require a different style. You likely have an outfit in mind as you’re reading this. It may be that saucy little black dress or your favorite jumpsuit. Whatever it is, it’s the one that makes you look so incredible that you can hardly stand it.

The key to good packing is… you guessed it… planning. Rather than just throwing a whole bunch of stuff into your suitcase, you’re going to want to make sure that you think about what you need. It doesn’t have to be as hard as it sounds. Just plan out different outfits and make sure that you have the right lingerie to match. Voilà!

What are your travel essentials?

It’s almost time to say goodbye to 2017 and welcome in the new year. In the lead-up to the event, you may be pondering over some new year’s resolutions. What changes are on your list so far? Are they are healthy and positive as they could be?

Why not make 2018 the year that you truly start practicing body positivity? Here’s how to do just that.

1.  Choose outfits that make you feel incredible

Picking out clothes should be a pleasure, not a chore. At times, we all feel like we get stuck in a rut when it comes to our fashion sense, but it has to stop. In 2018, choose outfits that make you feel as incredible as you are. Put your comfort and your body-acceptance first.

2.  Oh, and that goes for lingerie too

And it’s not just what you wear on top that matters; your lingerie should be a reflection of your personality. Loving your body means treating it to the finer things in life. That includes gorgeous, luxury lingerie. Don’t you forget it. As the new year looms, take the time to pick out some simply stunning sets that make you feel wonderful.

3.  Stop associating self-worth with your body size

Your dress size has absolutely zero to do with your value as a person. Self-worth is about what you mean to those around you, how kind and loving you are, how motivated you are to succeed, and a whole lot more. It is definitely not about what a little number on your clothing labels says. Don’t obsess over it. It doesn’t matter.

4.  Exercise for strictly positive reasons

If you’re planning to run on a treadmill until you’re ultra skinny, stop. That is not the reason to get fit and healthy. You do know that, right? Exercise is not a dirty word, but excessively exercising for weight loss reasons is toxic. When you hit the gym, do it for the right reasons. Do it to improve your health, to boost your endorphin levels, and to make yourself feel great.

5.  Never talk negatively about your body

If you’re guilty of talking negatively about your body, it’s time to change your ways. When you put your shape and size down, it has a terrible impact on you mentally. You start to believe your own words. So, for your own peace of mind, vow to quit this harmful habit. Start saying all the right things about yourself for once. It may feel weird but it’s the only way to get yourself back on track. Trust me, you won’t regret it.

6.  Give the #NoMakeUp trend a chance

The #NoMakeUp trend has been going strong for a couple of years now and it may be worth getting on board. Championed by the likes of Alicia Keys, among other fearless women, this is a fad that’s all about being brave enough to be who you are. While there’s nothing wrong with makeup and beauty products, you may find it refreshing to bare all. Go on. Just to prove that you can.

7.  Listen to what your body needs each day

Are you ignoring your body’s needs? If so, you need to resolve to change your ways sooner rather than later. Whether your body needs some time-out or just a little hydration, you have to be ready and waiting to respond. This resolution is all about caring for your needs and never once neglecting yourself. After all, if you don’t look after yourself, who will?

8.  Don’t be afraid to compliment yourself

For some reason, people will have you believe that saying nice or complimentary things about yourself is a bad habit. It’s not. Complimenting yourself is one of the kindest things you can do for yourself. Every day, take the chance to notice something about yourself that you adore. It could be as simple as the fact that you like your outfit or your hair being on point. It doesn’t matter what it is. What matters is that you do it.

9.  Avoid harmful social media channels

Do you follow channels or even people that make you feel awful about yourself? When you’re scrolling through social media sites, do you start to feel more and more down? There’s an oh-so-easy way to solve that problem, you know? Just click ‘unfollow’ right now. No one will care and you may feel a whole lot more positive.

10.  Choose your close friends wisely

Sadly, you can’t unfollow people in real life. However, you can get rid of toxic people that bring you down. If your close friends say things that are negative, hurtful, or harmful, maybe they are not friends at all. Think about it. Perhaps 2018 should be the year that you rid yourself of these people. Keeping them close isn’t doing you any favors.

You don’t need a new year to have a new start, but it’s as good a reason as any to make some positive changes in your life. Now, take the time to think about how you treat yourself and your body. Are you kind to yourself? Do you fully accept your body and life? If not, make some resolutions to truly love yourself and practice self-care every day.

What are your new year’s resolutions?

Close your eyes for a moment. Now, imagine you’re at the busiest of beaches in a stunning swimsuit. How does it make you feel? For some reason, many ladies out there actually shy away from donning a cute bikini or the like. There’s something that scares them off about the idea, but there shouldn’t be. In reality, you can feel your most confident when you get ready to hit the water.

Here’s what you need to do to give yourself a little boost along the way.

Find a style that suits your personality

Remember, buying a brand new swimsuit needn’t stress you out. Frankly, it should be nothing short of an actual pleasure. There’s nothing better than getting a chance to experiment with your own sense of style and your look. Don’t you forget that! Rather than sticking to the tried and tested black one-piece, opt for something a little more exciting.

There are some wildly attractive swimsuits out there if you’re bold enough to give them a go. For example, you might like a sporty little number or even a cut-out bikini top. If you’ve always gone for the same thing, you may find that this is a little intimidating at first, but you shouldn’t let it be. Instead, go ahead and give it a try.

Experiment with bright and bold prints

Nothing about your look has to be plain and simple. You are a daring lady and, as such, you deserve the best. You may find that you’re utterly taken with the idea of a tropical print suit or something even more thrilling. Take the time to browse a load of different colors, prints, and styles. The truth of the matter is that you don’t know what’s out there until you give yourself a chance to find out. Loving your swimsuit is the first step to success here, and so you really need to find something you adore.

Use accessories to glam it up

Once you’ve found a swimsuit that fits you well, you needn’t stop there. Don’t forget that you can always glam the thing up a tad with some cool accessories. For example, you may want to pop a statement necklace on or even some cool sunglasses. Or, you could get a chic wrap to put on top of the suit itself! There are loads of awesome things that complement a swimsuit look perfectly. Sometimes, it’s these smaller things that actually end up making the outfit and pulling it together.

Don’t buy into the ‘bikini body’ myth

There are few things more damaging than the bikini body myth. You know just what I’m talking about here. I mean the notion that you need to have a ‘perfect figure’ to look good in a swimsuit. Well, here’s a secret for you all: Every single body is perfect. Every single body is a ‘bikini body.’ When you realize that, you will find that there are few things that stand in your way.

Rather than allowing yourself to be taken in by this idea, remember that it’s not true at all. The whole notion of the ideal body makes people feel terrible about the way that they look. What’s more, that’s what it was designed to do. It’s a high-level manipulation to make us all feel less-than-worthy. Don’t let it get to you. Instead of focussing your attention on the idea that you’re not perfect, you should remember that you absolutely, 100% are. And you know it too.

Be kinder to yourself in general

Sometimes, we are our own worst enemies. If you’re cruel to yourself when you put on a swimsuit, you’re never going to feel confident in it. It’s that simple. Getting into the habit of constantly criticizing yourself will only end in tears – your tears and no one else’s. Instead, take the time to reconsider how you feel. Don’t be too hard on yourself and start believing things that simply aren’t true. Whenever you catch yourself thinking negatively about how you look, stop yourself in your tracks and remember how truly wonderful you are.

Focus on what you love about your body

Let me ask you a quick question. What is it that you simply love about your body? Don’t hesitate. Just answer. You may have a great bust, stunning legs, or just lovely long hair. Whatever makes you smile from ear-to-ear when you think about it, that’s the very thing that you need to pay attention to. It’s important.

The moment you slip on your brand new, all-singing, all-dancing swimsuit, think about that very thing. The glee that you will feel when you do so will shine through. Remember, there is nothing more attractive than someone who feels secure in their own skin. That’s what true beauty actually is. When you’re glowing with pride, the whole world will see it shine through and you will look and feel stunning.

Remember:

Every woman out there deserves to feel glorious when they slip on their favorite swimsuit. Finding one that suits you and your shape is an act of empowerment and don’t you forget it. Treat yourself to something that looks as brilliant as you deserve to feel. There’s nothing better than that. You really won’t regret it!

Parting with your favorite bra is a harrowing event. It’s like saying goodbye to a much-loved friend. It’s always been there for you, but in the end, you have to go your separate ways. Still, when a bra gets old and wears out, you need to let it go! Luckily, there are a few things you can do to prolong its life.

1.  Avoid putting them in the dryer

If you’ve been using the dryer on your bras until now, you need this advice more than you know. Putting a bra in the dryer is a dangerous game and, frankly, one that you really should not be playing. The heat that the machine uses to dry the material can often be too much for your bra and may even melt the underwire too. It is far better to leave your bras to dry naturally over a day or so (depending how warm the climate is!). Sure, it may be a pain to have to wait that long, but it’s certainly worth saving your precious lingerie.

2.  Have different bras for different occasions

Wearing the same bra all day, every day is a mistake. You absolutely need to have different bras for different occasions. The fact of the matter is that bras won’t last a long period if you wear them on a day to day basis. Just like anything else, they will start to wear more and more when you use them. It’s worth investing in an array of quality bras – from plunge bras to t-shirt ones – that you can wear to different things. That way, you will not end up wearing one of the bras out sooner than any of the others.

3.  Wash your bras every 3-5 wears

How often do you wash your bras at the moment? We’ve all been guilty of leaving it a little too long between washes. In reality, you need to make sure that wash your bra at least once every two washes. Leaving it for any longer than that could be damaging to the material, not to mention unhygienic. Once you get into the habit of washing your lingerie on a really regular basis, it will make all difference. Prioritizing this aspect of your overall lingerie care is the best thing you can do for yourself.

4.  Don’t stuff your lingerie all in a drawer

Where do you usually keep your lingerie? Often enough, we can all be a little lazy. We don’t give much thought to how we keep things and where we store them. If you just throw them all in a drawer and don’t worry about them, you’re making the wrong move. Doing so means that they will end up crumpled and squashed. As you can imagine, delicate lingerie items are just that  – delicate. You need to treat them with care at all times. Rather than keeping things in drawers, you ought to be hanging them up. Of course, you may not have enough storage space for that, but it’s worth thinking of how you can best keep your bras.

5.  Use a mesh lingerie bag

Should you tend to wash your bras in a machine, you want to do all you can to make sure that they don’t get damaged during the process. You can actually get mesh lingerie bags that protect your items when you wash them. That means that they won’t mingle with your other garments too much and will ultimately stay in top notch condition. It could be worth shopping around and finding a quality mesh bag from a retailer that you trust. That way, you can be 100% sure that your lingerie pieces will be safe as they clean.

6.  Hand-wash delicate bras

Of course, if you have especially delicate bras, you may want to hand-wash them. While it’s a little dull and boring to have to do so, hand-washing is one of the easiest ways to make sure that you don’t damage the material at all. You can be as gentle as you need to be when you decide to take on this method too, which really does make a whole load of difference. Be sure to use a light cleanser as well – that way, you know that the detergent won’t be too strong for the garment. Phew.

7.  Take care with different colors

Remember what your mom told you – you need to sort your laundry by color. You can’t mix light and dark colors in the same wash or you may find that the dyes run. That means that if you have dark bras, you need to pop them in with other dark colors and tones of material. If, on the other hand, you happen to have white bras, you need to wash them with only white tones or other, similarly pale colors. It may seem like a basic thing, but you would not believe how many people get this wrong.

When you invest in a quality piece of lingerie, it’s your duty to make sure that it stands the test of time. The way in which you treat it, store it, and, indeed, wash it will play a part in how long it ends up lasting. So long as you follow the advice here, you should have no problem getting as much use as possible out of your brand new bra. After all, when you truly love your new garment, you need to take proper care of it!

Happy bra shopping!

If you have big boobs, you’ve probably wondered what it would be like to have small boobs. The reality of having large boobs (and all that they bring) can be a tad difficult.

From unwanted attention to the struggle of finding a bra that fits, there are just some things that all women with large boobs experience. Here are just eight of them:

1.  You worry about wearing low-cut tops

Repeat after me: “I can wear anything I please!” Say it. Learn it. Remember it. Just because you have large breasts doesn’t mean that you can’t wear low-cut tops… or any other cut, for that matter. The point is that you need to wear things that make you feel comfortable and confident. If an outfit happens to tick both of those boxes, you’re certainly going to be onto a winner. Whenever you second-guess whether you should wear a certain outfit, remember that you have every right to! And while you’re at, opt for a plunge bra under your low-cut tops for a little extra support. You can thank us later!

2.  You have a hard time finding your size

You walk into a lingerie store full of hope that they will have a beautiful bra in your size. Ten minutes later, you realize that was a dream. Mainstream stores rarely stock your particular size and, when they do, the bras fly out faster than you can say ‘I’ll take one of those!’ Still, while you may not be able to get what you need on the high street, there are boutiques and online stores where you can. Bras with large cup sizes don’t have to be dull or boring — our range just so happens to be stunning and gorgeous — but they can be little harder to find.

3.  People assume they can stare at your boobs

What is it about large breasts that makes people think they can stare at them? Sometimes, people who seem otherwise totally respectful of you, will think nothing of doing this. You’ll be talking to them one minute, glance away, only to look back and see them checking out your boobs. This type of behavior is never okay. Period. You have absolutely every right to call someone on this when it happens. It might feel awkward, but they are the ones in the wrong here. If you’re not sure what to say, a simple “My eyes are up here” can do the trick.

4.  Finding the right sports bra can be a nightmare

Support. Support. Support. It’s hard to come by. When you have big boobs, finding a  sports bra that actually does what it says on the tag can be nothing short of a nightmare. Sure, they all claim that they will give you all the support and comfort that you need, but how can you actually be sure? Luckily, we have all the info you need on how to choose the right sports bra, so the process is simpler than you may imagine. Phew.

5.  And they will ask you ‘where you got them’

Has there ever been a more offensive question asked? People may think that they are being playful when they say something like this, but it is completely out of line. The implication here is that you either had a boob job (which is nobody’s business) or that you purposely ‘grew’ your breasts (which is not how it works at all). In both instances, the question is totally inappropriate and not okay to ask. Oh, and you totally don’t have to answer this question either. You don’t have to say anything.

6.  When you complain, people think you’re bragging

While you love your body completely, there are times when having large breasts can get on your nerves. For example, you may complain about the sports bra issue or say that your back or shoulders hurt now and then. Rather than getting a little much-deserved sympathy for this issue, though, your words are always met with the same response: “You’re so lucky you have big boobs. I wish I did.” or “People would pay for your boobs. Quit complaining.” or “That doesn’t seem like a problem to me.” People will tell you to stop complaining. Ouch. Apparently, you’re not allowed to talk about your breasts in any context. But we all know that’s not true!

7.  Finding the ideal bras for dresses is hard

When you find the perfect dress for a special occasion, there’s yet another thing to worry about. Now you have to find the right bra for the dress. Sigh! It’s anything but easy. Getting the support you need in a bra that also looks right with the outfit can be seriously tricky, especially if you’re dealing with an off-the-shoulder design or a halter cut. No one seems to understand the lengths that you go to when it comes to this. Plus, there are some styles that you can’t even wear because you can’t hide a supportive bra under them (backless dress, anyone?) The struggle is so real.

8.  You may get accused of ‘flaunting’ them

No matter what you wear or where you happen to be, the same accusation will be thrown at you over and over again. People will tell you that you’re ‘flaunting’ your boobs. Um, no. Just because you have them and dare not to strap them down, that does not mean that you’re showing them off. Don’t even get us started on going braless – we all love to give our boobs a break sometimes, but the negative comments people make are ridiculous. Why does it matter to them if we’re deciding to go without a bra? And why is it ok for women with small boobs to get without a bra, but we get ridiculed? It’s our choice to go braless or not. The fact that some people seem to take exception to the size of your breasts or your body shape is nothing short of offensive. Don’t stand for it. You deserve so much better than that.

Come on, women with large boobs unite! Loving yourself and your body is about fully accepting your shape and size. You are beautiful — and you know it. While there are a few struggles you face, you adore the way that you look and the skin you’re in. You are you. Plain and simple. Nothing is more powerful than that.
