where to go bra shopping

Are you ready to hit the stores? If you’re in desperate need of some new lingerie, you know what you need to do. But wait, before you get going, there’s one last thing to decide.

Should you head out with your bestie or go alone this time? Here are a few things to consider:

Advantages of shopping with friends

Let’s start off with some nice positive things here. You love your bestie. Spending time with her is an awesome way to relax and have a laugh. What’s more, she always has your back and knows just what you like when it comes to shopping. So, with all of the above in mind, here are some of the reasons you may want to shop with her by your side:

1.  You can ask her opinion.

Not sure whether a certain lingerie set suits your shape? Never fear! Your bestie is on hand to give you all the advice you could ever ask for… and maybe even a little more to boot. Just call her into the dressing room and get her opinion pronto.

2.  She knows what suits you.

This woman has known you forever, which means that you can totally trust her opinion when it comes to what suits you and what so does not. She can give you the honest truth and tell you what you need to hear. She’s basically your fashion guru.

3.  She can grab you extra sizes.

Accidentally picked up the wrong size? Whoops! Don’t panic. You don’t need to get dressed again. Instead, you can just call your bestie into the changing room and ask her a big favor. Surely she won’t mind heading onto the store floor and grabbing you a few more sizes to try. That’s what friends are for.

Advantages of shopping alone

Of course, some of us out there prefer to fly solo. If you’re the type of independent lady who wants to do things alone most of the time, this one’s for you. There’s nothing quite like taking your own sweet time about things and only having to think about yourself. Here’s why that’s a great idea:

1.  You only have to look at what you want.

One of the best things about shopping alone is the fact that you only need to look at the stuff you want to buy. That means you don’t have to bother going into a load of stores you’re not interested in. You can make a real game plan here – choose what stores you want to hit up and get going.

2.  There’s no waiting around in dressing rooms.

What’s more, you don’t have to wait around in dressing rooms while your bestie tries on a million and one different outfits. In fact, there’s basically no waiting around at all. You head to the store you like, go into it, and then go ahead and try on what you want.

3.  It’s quicker and easier.

If you happen to be short on time (and, let’s be real, patience!), this is sure to be the way to go. The whole shopping experience is sure to be loads quicker when you’re alone. So, if you’re looking for a short and sweet trip, it makes sense to go solo.

Disadvantages of shopping with friends

While you would never want to say anything negative about your best friend, you have to admit, it’s not all rainbows and sunshine. Sometimes, even your favorite lady in the world can do things to annoy you. Here are some of the reasons you may not want to shop with her this time around:

1.  She may think she knows best.

Sure, most of the time, you value this woman’s opinion more than anyone else’s but what about those rare occasions when she’s just plain wrong? If your bestie is the type of girl who always thinks that she knows best, that could get kind of old fast.

2.  She could talk too much when browsing.

Some of us like to really concentrate when it comes to looking for some fabulous new lingerie or swimwear. Should your bestie have the gift of the gab, though, it may get a tad annoying. It’s hard when you just want a second of silence to check out some new stuff.

3.  You have to look at random stuff.

Of course, your friend will want to look at stuff as well now and then. That means that you could spend minutes (or even hours) browsing things that you have absolutely zero interest in. What a nightmare! And, you can’t moan about it either, because it’s rude.

Disadvantages of shopping alone

Going it alone may have a whole load of advantages, but there has to be a downside, right? Sometimes, it’s no fun heading to the mall by yourself and doing the whole shopping shebang. Here are some of the disadvantages to shopping solo:

1.  There’s no one to chat with.

Your shopping may be getting done super fast, but who can you tell about it? Now and then, it’s nice to have a good, old-fashioned chinwag with your bestie. Talking to the sales assistants just isn’t the same… and you know it.

2.  You might get a little lonely.

Building on that, you may find that you get a tad lonely when you’re heading from store to store. Even the most independent of us need company now and then. While you might think that you want to go alone, it could turn out that it would have been better with a friend.

3.  You have to do everything yourself.

Perhaps the greatest disadvantage to going shopping by yourself is that you also have to do everything yourself. From finding the right size in store to looking for the styles that suit you, it’s all completely down to you. No one is there to hold your hand.

Needless to say, there are advantages and disadvantages to both shopping alone and heading to the mall with your bestie. Which you choose depends on how you’re feeling and what type of shopping experience you’re after. For those quick shopping days, you may be best going it alone, while for a leisurely day out, you’re probably going to want your bestie right by your side.
