In this series, we’re sharing our favorite styles (and a few reasons why you’re sure to love them too.)

Emma Soft Padded Bra

Construction

The Emma Wire-Free Soft Padded Bra is a wireless bra with molded cups designed to be worn under t-shirts. This minimalist design features seamless, wire-free cups, a snug microfiber band, and thin adjustable straps. The high-quality microfiber fabric feels smooth and soft on the skin and helps tops and dresses glide over without clinging to the fabric.

The comfortable cups provide the lift, support, and shaping that you’re looking for but have trouble finding in a wireless t-shirt bra. The plunging design of the Emma Wire-Free Soft Padded Bra works for many different necklines. Plus, the soft padded cups offer just enough coverage and opacity – making this a great bra for work or school.

Fit

The Emma Wire-Free Soft Padded Bra is a supportive wire-free bra with seamless padded cups. This style is designed to remain hidden under fitted tops and dresses. The flattering rounded shape suits a multitude of breast shapes. The fits snug and feels supportive and comfortable for all-day wear. The seamless microfiber cups and clean finish neckline create a smooth silhouette under t-shirts. Enclosed top and bottom elastics provide additional comfort. One of the best features of the Emma Wire-Free Soft Padded Bra is its back J-hook which converts the straps to a crossover style with a flick of the wrist.

A few fit notes: Wireless bras are an excellent alternative to bras with underwire. Depending on the bra, the fit of a wireless bra can be more forgiving and comfortable in a wired style. Plus, wireless bras work for a wide range of breast shapes, so there’s definitely one for you out there.

If you’re new to wireless bras, you may want to visit your local lingerie boutique for a bra fitting first. A bra fitter can handpick bras for you to try and make sure that you only leave with the best. Perfect!

Care

lingerie care

Proper care is crucial if you want your lingerie to last. We recommend washing lingerie in cold water and avoiding the dryer at all costs. Hand washing lingerie is the gentlest option (as it involves the least amount of agitation), but machine washing on the delicate cycle is also an option if you don’t have time to hand wash. If you do machine wash your bras, be sure to hook them first, separate the colors (bright colors may bleed onto your light-colored bras), and sort them into mesh lingerie bags. Panties should also be sorted by color and placed in separate bags so the bra hooks don’t snag delicate underwear.

To wash, use a gentle detergent or laundry soap designed for lingerie and wash them on a delicates cycle in cold water. Once they’re washed, either hang dry them (drape the center front of the bra over the hanger – don’t hang a wet bra by its straps) or lay them flat to dry (away from sunlight which can cause the colors to fade over time) with the cups facing up.

Lastly, be extra careful when storing your lingerie. For molded bras, line them up in a drawer with the cups facing up – one bra in front of the other. Unlined bras, bralettes, and non-molded sports bras can be folded in half and stacked on top of each other to save space. Panties can be folded and sorted by color or style in a lingerie drawer. Babydolls, chemises, and bodysuits can be on hangers in the closet or folded in a drawer. Bustiers and corsets often require special care, so they’re best kept in a drawer away from dust and sunlight.

One last thing…

Education is a big part of my job as a bra fitter. I feel fortunate to be partnering with Parfait on creating lingerie-related content with the goal of helping readers make educated and empowered shopping decisions. There is so much to bra fitting that we can’t cover in a single blog post, so the goal since the very beginning of the blog has been to tackle it one article at a time.
