Demi Bra vs Push Up Bra

Demi cup bras and push-up bras are two very sexy bra styles. Both come in a variety of fabrics and styles, and each style makes your breasts look fuller. However, demi cup and push-up bras are very different styles and shouldn’t be confused with each other. So, what’s the difference you ask? Let’s first talk about what makes each bra style unique.

What is a demi bra?

A demi cup bra has cups cover about half or three-quarters of your bust. Because the cups are shorter in height, your breasts appear to be pushed upward. This makes your breasts naturally look fuller and rounder. Some demi cup bras also have padding to push your breasts up even higher.

A demi cup bra may also be called a half bra, shelf bra, balcony bra or balconette bra. A balconette bra is more of a retro style bra. When you think “pin-up” style, you probably picture a balconette bra. Most demi cup bras have either unlined cups or foam-lined cups. This makes the demi cup bra comfortable enough for every day wear. But, just because it can be worn every day doesn’t mean this style can’t be sexy. Demi cup bras come in a variety of designs and styles, making it a beautifully sexy piece of lingerie.

A push up bra contains extra padding in the sides and bottoms of the cups to push your breasts in and up. This inward and upward motion is what creates the cleavage. Push-up bras can make your bust appear to be at least 1-2 cup sizes larger than it really is. So, push-up bras are an excellent option to wear under low-cut garments or when you want to visually increase the size of your bust.

Because push-up bras push and squeeze your breasts, they’re typically not a go-to option for everyday wear. But, of course, this all depends on the woman’s personal preference. Like demi cup bras, push-up bras come in a variety of designs. You could opt for a lacy, embellished push-up, or a smooth push-up that could be worn under tight-fitting clothes.

The difference between the two bra styles

The difference between a demi cup bra and a push-up bra really comes down to their fits. It’s the fit of each that differentiates how the style accentuates your bust. Both styles make your breasts look fuller, yet a demi bra won’t provide as much cleavage. If you want to boost your cleavage, a push-up bra is the best choice. If you want rounder, perkier looking breasts, a demi bra is the answer.

The great thing about both bra styles is that they can make even very small breasts appear bigger. However, the appearance is always natural. Whether you choose a demi cup bra or a push-up bra, each can enhance your bustline and maximize cleavage.
