Answer These Questions And We’ll Tell You If You Need New Bras
Chances are you’re wearing the wrong bra size right now. Yes, you. How do I know? Studies show that 80% of women are wearing the wrong bra size. While that exact number is debatable, most women have at least one bra in their wardrobe that is uncomfortable, worn out, ill-fitting, or unsupportive. Sound familiar? Maybe you received the bra as a gift and can’t bear to part with it. Maybe you haven’t had a chance to clean out your closet yet. Or maybe you’re just not sure what to do with your old bras (we have a few ideas).
As a bra fitter, it’s my mission to help you find bras that fit well and feel good. Since I need a little help from my friends to make this possible, I’m personally referring you to a lingerie store to get a professional bra fitting. The wonderful bra fitters at these stores can help you finally find bras that fit in addition to saving you time and money. Plus, by shopping at one of these stores, you’re supporting (pun intended) a small business in the process and directly benefiting your local community.

Before you buy another bra, ask yourself these questions first:
1. Have I had a bra fitting in the last 6 months?

If you answered no, or if you’ve never had a bra fitting, it’s time.
Other signs: you’ve recently lost or gained weight, you’ve become pregnant or had a baby, your bras are uncomfortable and don’t fit properly, your breast tissue doesn’t feel supported when you’re wearing a bra, you’re experiencing back pain, or you’re just not happy with any of your bras.
2. Do I know my bra size?

If your answer is no and you’re filling up your shopping cart with multiple sizes in the hopes that one or two bras will fit, you need a bra fitting. A bra fitter can take the guesswork out of bra shopping and show you exactly what you need.

3. Do I know which styles work best for me?

If you answered no, it’s time for a bra fitting. Believe it or not, every woman has a few bra styles that work better for her than others. Bra fitters can match the right bra with your breast shape and size and body type.
4. Do I know how to properly care for my lingerie?

If you answered no, you’re probably in need of new bras. Consider this: Are you too hard on your bras? Do you wear the same bra every day? Do you wash them in hot water or throw them in the dryer? Maybe the reason why you’re replacing your bras so often is because of how you’re washing and storing them. Your bras will last a lot longer than 1-3 months if you’re rotating them (never wear the same bra too days in a row), washing them with care, and storing them properly in a closet or in drawers.

Remember:
These are just a few things to consider before buying new bras. You don’t have to spend hundreds of dollars on bras in order for them to last. As long as you buy the right size, start with a few (minimum 3-4 bras), and take good care of them, they should last you approx. 6-12 months.
